The wilds of Minnesota (Anne)

Our adventures have taken us to some delightful towns in southwestern Minnesota since we last posted.  Redwood Falls was our first stop after Worthington, and we played for a very full (and very enthusiastic!) audience there!  Our post-concert food choice was a no-brainer, as this local establishment was directly across the street from our hotel:

The woman at our hotel did not give it the highest recommendation, but given that our choice was this or a restaurant called the Rusty Bucket, we went with the less... rusty(?) option.  All we really needed was exactly what the sign advertised - burgers and beer!  And fried cheese curds:
It was not health food, but it was delicious!

The next morning we enjoyed the very fine coffee and food at Calf Fiend Cafe, an eclectic and friendly spot in the center of town.

Our last stop in Minnesota this week was beautiful St. James, where we played in a delightful old school auditorium with excellent acoustics.  We have been consistently impressed with (and grateful for) the beautiful spaces we've been performing in on this tour.  Anytime you play in unfamiliar territory it can be a roll of the dice, and we've learned to expect the worst after being faced with difficult situations in the past. It sure is nice to be pleasantly surprised!

Next stop: Wisconsin!

  1. You guys are WAY too dainty with the cheese curds. Toothpicks???? At least some of you are local enough to know better. :)

Nonetheless, looks like a good visit to MN.
